Currency

As a UK-based company all our prices are presented in pound sterling. If you order from outside the UK you may incur a small charge from your bank for exchanging from your own currency into pound sterling.

Website sale items

Sale items and special offers available on the website are only available online via mail-order. We cannot provide the same sale offers from our stores.


Statement of Privacy

We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our valued customers. The information that is collected when an order is placed is used for the sole purpose of processing your order with Achilles Heel. We respect your privacy and we do not sell personal customer information to third parties.

The personal information which we hold will be held for a period of 30 days. After that period, and assuming you are satisfied with your order, your personal details will be removed from our database.

We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have signed up for our newsletter.

Security Statement

Achilles Heel uses Protx to process payments securely online.

The Protx payment system uses a combination of established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data. Their internet facing web servers are certified by Verisign, this ensures that no third parties can impersonate Protx to obtain secure information.

Transaction Security

The transfer of the less sensitive transaction details from the retailer's site to Protx is encrypted and digitally-signed. This ensures that the information passed is secure and tamper-proof.

Security for the Shopper

Any communication between the customer and Protx is encrypted to the maximum strength supported by the customer's browser. The customer is also protected from fraudulent use of their card in a "card not present" environment, by their card issuer.

Data Storage

All data stored on Protx systems is held on encrypted and highly secured databases. Protx are regularly audited by Visa and MasterCard to ensure that their systems conform to the latest security standards.

Ordering Information

Generally all listed sizes are in stock. All in-stock orders are shipped within 24 hours (orders received after noon on Friday and through the weekend will be shipped on Monday). If there will be a delay with your order, you will receive an additional e-mail explaining the situation.

When paying for your goods online, credit / debit card information is sent by secure server. You can also post your order with a cheque or telephone your order and pay with your credit / debit card.

When ordering online an automatic confirmation is sent via email shortly after you have placed an order. This email will contain your order number, the content of your order and details about how to track the state of your order if necessary. We do not charge for any items until they are in dispatch.

Please note that when ordering from Achilles Heel, you may find the prices for some products will vary between our stores and this website. We are sorry to say that our website prices cannot be extended across to our stores.


Delivery Information

Achilles Heel can deliver orders worldwide. This includes delivery via the British Forces Post Office.

All orders will be dispatched within 24 hours if the requested items are in stock and orders received before 3pm are despatched the same day. For all products, except shoes (see below), delivery in the UK mainland is usually within 1-2 days, however please allow up to 5 working days.

Please note that for the delivery of shoes within the United Kingdom we use the courier service provided by Interlink Express.

What does this mean to you if you buy your shoes from Achilles Heel?

First of all you can be assured that the delivery of your shoes is in safe hands. Secondly if you're not going to be able to receive your delivery you can leave some special instructions to leave with a neighbour (when you order online) which our courier will try to fulfil. However, please note that Achilles Heel cannot be held responsible for items that go missing if instructed to be left with a neighbour.

Shoes are delivered within 24 hours of your order time (during office hours), so please consider this when placing your order.

If you're not in

You can pick up your shoes from Interlink Express or call Interlink Express to arrange a redelivery. Use the postcode checker below to find your local branch (takes you to the Interlink Express web site).

Achilles Heel is not responsible for any delays encountered by Royal Mail, Interlink Express, adverse weather conditions or out of area deliveries.

If a product is out of stock or we can only deliver part of your order we will contact you straight away, either by email or by phone. On contact with you we will explain the situation and offer several alternatives one of which will include canceling your order. Achilles Heel will follow any stipulation directed by you, the customer.

Should you decide to leave any product on back order, you can contact us at any time for any updates on the said order.

Postage will only be charged on the initial payment for any part orders we dispatch. We will charge no further postage on any items we dispatch thereafter.

Returns Procedure

Achilles Heel offers a 'no hassles' returns policy. All items can be returned for an exchange or a full refund.

To return an unsuitable or faulty item you have two options which must be made within 14 days of purchase:

  • If you ordered online

    In the first instance please send an email to info [AT] achillesheel.co.uk detailing your order number, name, daytime telephone number, address and the problem you have with your purchase. The next step is to post your order to Achilles Heel, 593 Great Western Road, Glasgow G12 8HX. Please include an additional note with the same information detailed by email. Please ensure that you obtain a certificate of postage as your insurance against loss or damage. Your credit / debit card will be credited accordingly and an email will be sent as confirmation.

  • If you purchased from our shop

    Please bring your order back into the shop with a copy of your sales receipt and we will happily refund your payment. NB. if you ordered online, you can return goods directly to the shop if you have proof of your order number and identification.

All returns and exchanges* must be received in new condition, without sign of wear and in their original box with all tags and attachments that original came with your purchase. Please do not tape or deface the shoe box. Manufacturer's defects are required to be returned within 28 days of purchase.

* Unfortunately we are unable to reimburse any postage costs. Please note that there will be a postage charge to ship the replacement goods to you.

We will return all monies by the same method of payment originally used.

Please note we suggest using ParcelForce Trackback at your local Post Office, to send the goods back to us.
